Post Grad Consolidation

I'm working on consolidating and improving my running and stamina, so just repeating the W9 runs. The first couple I increased run to 35 mins, which wasn't too bad. Today I thought I'd up my pace. Was knackered at 30 mins but did complete it, and ran about 300-400m further.

I'm a bit confused though as my phone GPS and exercise measure said I'd completed 6.6km in 40mins (5min walk at start and finish) and Map my Run app says 5.1km in same time.

Seems a big difference for same run. πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ

Either way I'm running a little faster and further in the 30mins. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ•ΊπŸ•ΊSo chuffed.

Well done for the super running! My fitbit app and my Nike Run app show different distances too. Unless you map it out with a proper measure you can;t be sure. I think that is one of the appeals of Parkrun as it has all been accurately measured out for you. Keep up the good work!

Nice job. Watch extending time or duration tho. Only add 10% each week ideally to only one of your three runs. More than that and you can get injured easily which you don't need right now. Just take it slow and gentle :-)

I agree, I'm being very cautious.

Slowly slowly catchy monkey! πŸ’πŸ’

Spot on. If you do catch the monkey though, feel free to keep it. I've always found them a bit creepy tbh. Probably don't taste as nice as cake either :-)

It's ok, was born and bred in the Town that hung the monkey, I'm a true monkey hanger! πŸ™ˆπŸ™‰πŸ™Š

Brilliant John, sounds like you’re heading in the right direction! πŸ™Œ

I’ve just started a 2 x 4k runs/1 x 5k run schedule per week. My first 5k is tomorrow 😳 I’m finding 4k fine (takes about 33 minutes so SnailsRUs still).

I use MapMyRun too. No idea how accurate it is, but apparently all GPS works best the less built up the area (obviously).

Keep running! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

I'm happy to be a member of snailsRus, should start a group. 🐌🐌

Sounds like a good schedule, mine is two slow runs for 35 mins then faster for 30 mins. Good luck with your 5 km. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ
