The dangers of sponteneity

Hallo runners

Hard work this morning, my legs were rather heavy. As I ran past the entrance to the woods my route takes me round I found myself darting in to change things round a bit. What a daft idea that proved to be. Heavily rutted and muddy, I was leaping all over the place while trying to keep my rhythm. I seem to have avoided injury, but that'll teach me to be impetuous. 

That's week 6 over, though. 25 mins including a load of prancing about. Fab!

I went hiking today and it was muddier than expected. Maybe wait it for it to dry up a little before trying it again...

Changing up the route is a good idea, though. If you've avoided injury and had fun, that's all that matters. In the early weeks (around week 2/3, I think) I managed to pull my hip slightly avoiding a puddle. Fortunately I could walk it off.

Well done for finishing week 6, you know can do the week 7 runs now, because you already have.

The plan is to go back to the old route all the way round to do one more steady boring route, and then change it completely for run 2. I'm going to try to persuade OH to go and do a recce on his bike!

Prancing is good... mud squdging, too and as for ice slides.. well just wait :)

Maybe it was hard work but I bet it was fun LOL!  The trouble with very uneven ground is the strain put on my ankles, I did the same spontaneous run last week and it took a couple of days to recover.  Still happy memories 😀

Sounds just fine - leaping about  is probably very good for stamina!

Haha that will have shaken up your body a bit, just when it thought it knew what to expect you make it jump about the place.  Congrats on completing week 6, you're almost there!

Some of us don't quite think we've had a run unless we've been ankle deep in goo (also, when you get to the stage where you're interested in times, you can just blame being slow on the terrain)
