I wanted to do my longer run at a reasonable speed today (reasonable for me is 7:30 / km or anything under 8 mins on a longer run). And because I've learnt you have to build up slowly or your legs protest I wanted a 6 k. Route sorted, husband informed, lightly dressed for perfect running weather (overcast, no rain, but not cold) I set off. One of my favourite routes across fields and up near the bendy trees, back through woods. I went the other way round to avoid triggers telling me to stop. There was a Turkish family sitting in their allotment with two lambs on a spit. Other family members were standing round a heap of coals, where they were obviously going to be barbecuing or baking potatoes. Big beaming smiles all round as I wished them "guten Appetit" (I was half hoping for an invite). They were going to have a great day. Then round the corner for the turn back into the woods. It was there I decided to change my plans (see picture). All those sheep were turning down my path! Back then through the residential area, also fine. Very quiet, didn't have to stop at any roads. I find different routes make me faster. I achieved what I wanted, 6 k in under 45 mins. Loved it!
