W6R2 - did someone mess with the thermostat?

I have had a week off work this week so thought it would be easier to fit in running, however it seems the day to day routine of work actually lends itself more to running on set days.  It was my birthday this week (new running gear -yay!) so spent the day at Chester zoo and walked for five miles, so no running that day.  Yesterday spent the day walking around Silverdale, watching the sea birds and enjoying the peace and quiet.  Came home and enjoyed a mojito in the garden, feeling the warm sunshine on me.  So no running again!  So ventured out today, onto the seafront but in a t-shirt for the first time this year.  It was still breezy but warm.

First 10 minutes went quite well, nearly reached the shrimper boats which is as far as I have got before turning round to run back again.  Second 10 minutes I felt like my face was a burning hot furnace, my other half even asked if I felt ok as I was the colour of a Ribena berry!  I think I might need to ditch the full length leggings for shorter ones, otherwise I may spontaneously combust.  Doesn't bode well for summer!

Came home to the news about Prince.  The Purple Rain album got me through some troubled times in my teenage years so have been listening to it again this evening.  Such a talent and so sad that he is gone.

So onwards to no more intervals, it will feel strange but also I feel I may finally be getting somewhere.  Onwards and upwards as they say.

My face always burns after a bit. I'd rather it completely melted than have to wear shorts 😐

I much preferred it once the runs became non-stop.

Keep going and happy birthday x

I haven't worn shorts for years, but more because of their milky white colour than anything else!

Same here but with added bonusof pink and splotchy when running. Think corned beef 😣

Yep, it's definitively time for t-shirts and shorts, at least here in Berkshire.

Well done for completing W6R2; you are in sight of the finish line now and we will soon celebrate your graduation! 🙂
