The Wrong Trousers - Any tall runners out there ?

Having completed W9R3 yesterday I am now looking to get a bit of proper kit so that if I ever get to enter a park run I want to look a little bit like I know what I am doing. I have spent the last nine weeks running C25K in a pair of really heavy double lined track suit bottoms that I 'inherited' from my dad about 8 years ago and an old Berghaus fleece top. (no wonder I get home looking like a beetroot) Luckily I run early in the morning and don't get seen by too many people.

As well as looking for new kit, I have the added problem of being 6'5'' tall with a 36 waist and 36 inside leg. So I'm looking for someone who may know a firm/manufacturer that sell 'extra long' running tights. I have trawled a few sights and found 'long' or 'XXL' to equate to 34 inside leg which is really no good. So if anyone who also has long legs, like me, knows of a suitable company that sells leggings/tights in that range then I'd love to hear from you. If you have short legs but know a company that sells long legged tights then I'd love to hear from you also

Thanking you in advance IB

Can't help specifically, but you might try looking at rowing kit: rowers tend to be pretty tall - my nephews are University rowers and 6' 3" and not the tallest in their teams. Rowing leggings tend to be cut long because they row sitting down, obviously, and often have stirrups (but not exclusively, as I recall my nephews having a debate about the pros and cons of stirrups vs non stirrups). they get theirs from a company called Godfrey, I believe.

Hi Rignold, Sounds like a great place to start looking. Thanks for the prompt reply too. Cheers IB

Just had a look at their website....some cracking stuff on it and their XXL stuff is 36-40 waist and 36-39 inside leg.....spot on

That is tall for a woman- I am assuming you are? However there are lots of options. I have a 33 inside leg and also really struggle to find stuff that fits. I do have men's running tights from Howies which are great, although slightly loose in the groin area!!!!!! Embrace your height and I think you will find some great stuff out there, I love being tall 😎

Have you thought of wearing cut offs that would come mid-calf on a shorter person but would probably be under the knee on you. I use the mid-calf running pants from Primark which I find fine to run in and which are cheap enough to allow me to own a number of pairs. All have a key/i pod pocket and are compressive enough to help with muscle support.

Hi lynnepaul, Thx for reading and replying to my recent post. I am really looking for full length leggings/tights but I've had a couple of great responses already giving outlets that cater for giraffe like legs. Thx again IB
