Following my 100th parkrun on Christmas Eve I've been on the volunteer roster every Saturday since, today was barcode scanning, the temperature was -5.
Dress kit for barcode scanning in - 5. Underwear. Calf sleeves, thermal tights, leggings, fleece lined over trousers. Long sleeved polo neck top, woollen jumper, very long sweatshirt, fake fur lined outdoor jacket. 1 pair running gloves covered by 1 pair woollen gloves covered by woollen fingerless gloves. 3 pairs of socks over thermal tights. Balaclava and woollen hat on top of balaclava. Wellies, as that was all that would fit over the 4 layers of tights and socks. Lovely and warm except for feet......and some of the runners were in singlets and shorts !!!!!
Well done if you managed to get out of bed and run this morning.
Well done - did the barcode scanning at New Year and was quite chilly, but it's a lot colder now. I admit to looking at how heavy the frost was and deciding to go back to bed. Did do my own 5k a few hours later.
Went out this morning. After my brisk walk turned into a "step carefully because of ice" walk, I decided to run on the roads. Much better. At 5.45 in the morning in our town, there is virtually nothing on the roads.
