My app doesn't play music when I'm running

This may be a silly question but how do I get music to play when I'm running? When Laura stops talking it's just silence until she talks again.

either run the app concurrently with your own music playlist (advised) or download the podcasts and endure Laura's 'music' choices (ill-advised).

Oh Rig, you always make me laugh when you describe Laura's music. Sometimes I think I'll listen to the podcast, it's not that bad, then while I'm listening I realise just how bad it really is and think of you.

A lot of us on here have downloaded the podcasts from the nhs choices c25k website. They have Laura coaching with music playing inbetween. As Rignold says it is possible to use the app with your own music but i wouldn't know how to do that. The podcasts are good and more reliable that an app as won't lose signal.

Music is not great but it does motivate you to get on with it.

Hope this helps.

Good luck with your running. :)

I've just downloaded the podcasts and the music isn't great but it's better than silence. I don't know how to listen to my own music with the app either Jan so this will have to do until I work it out.

Go for it Laureth. We all think the music is a bit cheesy but its at the correct tempo and gives you something to shake your booty at.. you only have to listen to each session 3 times... its all part of the discipline...lol.

Good luck. :)

Exactly any music is better than nothing. I'm just glad there is something to listen to. I need it to get me through it 😊

You need to have a music player also on your phone. At the bottom of the C25k front page is a pic of a music note and when you tap it it opens up a choice of music players from your phone. So mine showed me spotify, Google play and deezer. My music is on spotify so I selected that and now every time I tap the music note spotify opens and I can set my own music going at the same time as the app. It fades down whenever Laura speaks. Hope that helps!

hi there im really confused i initially downloaded c25k app from the appstore but on my very 1st walk/run my chosen trainer (sarah millican) stopped talking to me & it was all very confusing not to mention frustrating, so i posted on here & several people replied suggesting i download the podcasts as the app is infamous for problems, i have downloaded all the podcasts but would prefer to listen to my running trax in my i tunes library...on the app there was a music note & i was able to listen to my own music whilst my trainer chipped in until that stopped working ....i cant see a music note icon that you refer to on a front page ? im such a technophobe i didnt even know what a podcast was until i went on here lol plse can you help? x
