Yes I do stretch, perhaps I should do it a bit more. Thanks for the advice.

It will take a while for your muscles and body to adjust to your new running regime so hopefully with time and stretching all will settle down :)

Good luck with future runs ☺

Well done Sandman on completing week 1. Tired legs from working hard...

I expect you are following Laura's advice and taking it slow and steady.

My hubby and I started the program ladt April he is 60 and im 55 and we can both run for 30 minutes now..

The way to go is to listen to your body too, move on to week 2, but its perfectly ok to repeat any session if you feel you need to.

Keep hydrated and maybe try a few leg stretches when you finish your run and your muscles are still warm.

Let us know how next week goes, cos we have advice on those legs if it is still a problem.

Good luck with Week 2. :)

Congratulations on completing w1, it might not seem like it now but the aches in the legs do ease after a while and as Rob says stretching after a run does help as do warming down sufficiently. Keep up the good work and enjoy yourself!

Very well done for getting through week 1, that's just brilliant. Those aches will ease up when your body clocks on that you're using those muscles whether they like it or not! Strength and flex podcasts are helpful too. Good luck with week 2 :)

That day will come - when your legs stop aching. But by that time you will be going faster and longer, so they'll still hurt!
