I think I'm using a slightly different C25K program to a lot of the people on here - it's 8 weeks long and tonight's run (week 6, run 3) is 15 minutes running, 3 minutes walking, 5 minutes running. I AM TERRIFIED!
The previous run was 10 minutes running, 3 minutes walking, 10 minutes running, and I found it incredibly difficult. Every other run so far has been fine, but I made a few schoolboy errors:
* I chose a different route, which turned out to be quite hilly and boring, so I struggled.
* I listened to music whilst running for the first time, so inadvertently ran a bit quicker than usual, and struggled to get my breathing right
* I ran on an almost empty stomach (which I never usually do)
The run before that was 10 minutes running, 5 minutes walking, 10 minutes running, and that was absolutely fine, so I think last time I was just having a bad running day.
Even so, the thought of running an extra 5 minutes on top of the 10 I've worked up to so far is quite scary. I hope I can do it.
I'll be sticking to my usual route, which is flatter and more interesting, so hopefully that will help.
I've signed up for a 5k charity run on 20th March, so the pressure really is on!
Wish me luck!
