Ok so having said I run for enjoyment what has possessed me to sign up to a tough muddier !!!!! I have gone mad.
So my runn this morning 7 km to the gym. Nice. Beautiful easy and gently breathing, that was a breeze. Then upper body work at the gym - that was hard from the first bit of kit. I could only manage 3 pull ups - oh dear. Couple of minutes planking, some sit ups , mountains climbers and oh dear then the run back - via my usual hill for interval training. I was a huffin and a puffing.
Conclusion - I am too old, too mad , this is too hard, I can't even type this, my arms hurt. That said two years ago I struggled with run 1 week 1. I made c25k, I will make tough mudder. Whatch out old woman running !!!

Wow that's a full schedule , I admire your determination
Wow! You do so much! That's incredible. I signed up to two 5K runs yesterday. I'd be happy to sponsor you if you have a JustGiving page. You'll have to post lots of pictures of the aftermath/aftermudbath =]
What a lovely comment. Thank you it's so appreciated But our entrance fee - which is hefty is supporting "help for heroes" so no just giving pages for me. This is just a personnel mission. I only wrote the post it as there seem a few struggling at the moment. As am I. But I have learnt this running thing is a mental challenge - running makes you strong is so many ways.
I doubt I will do well - but I will do this tough mudder
There si no 'doing well' in a Tough Mudder - there is only doing it. TM is not a race, tehre is no chip timing or winner/placings etc. This is what sets TM apart from Obstacle 'races' per se. TM is designed to be an experience, to encourage teamwork etc rather than getting round in a particular time. Its the taking part that is the thing.
Best of luck with it. Which one are you doing and when?
