W5r2 - that was really tough

I have put this run off recently although I was doing wee extra runs during the week but the sun was up, the sky is bright blue - perfect day for a run.

Ollie was blazing up the hill while I plodded through my first 8 mins run. It was sooooo tough. I’m not sure if I’m still post-Covid or if I’m totally out of condition, but I really struggled today.

The 3 mins walk to the turnaround tree was lovely but I didn’t really manage to get my breathing back to normal before Jo announced the 2nd 8mins.

I wasn’t too worried about this run - it’s downhill most of the way home but the last couple of mins are a slight incline. I fought so hard to finish but I did it!!!

I will repeat this run before moving onto run 3. Just to sort my confidence out more than anything - and because it gives snow for this week 😱😱😱😱😱

Happy Easter everyone. Have an amazing weekend with loads of lovely chocolate and loads of beautiful friends.

...May be those wee little extra runs took it out of you?

Well done for finishing the run though!

Remember it’s a plan that works...if you completed R2, you don’t need to repeat it. Take 2 days off...*no* extra runs, just walks or Strength and Flex...you’ll be fine 👍

Have a lovely Easter 🐣🏃🏻‍♀️🐌🐢🥰

Thanks Lottie. I will take your advice and see how I go but I won’t worry if I can’t make it. It was my breathing as much as anything. I didn’t feel like I recovered in the 3 mins.

As you say, this plan definitely works - I should stick to it 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻.

Thank you x

...were you going too fast maybe then? Don’t forget COVID is a bugger...you may need to dial it back some more...

Good luck 🥰

Perhaps slow down a bit ? I still feel like that if I go too fast . Doesn’t take much for me to get to a huffing and puffing stage .

I’ve realised this makes me not enjoy the run, so I try really hard to discover my easy pace .

All the talk of keeping at a pace where you can hold a conversation is really true , that’s how slow you should be going .

Then you build your stamina so that your easy pace is a little faster but you can handle it .

That’s what I’ve found anyway and that’s what I’m focusing on ( still ! 😂)

Thank you. I will definitely be going slow tomorrow. I know I can do the 20 min run. I will be listening to all the positive vibes from everyone here as I head out tomorrow.

Absolutely and you’ve done it before so know you can .I remember really concentrating so hard on that run and keeping it steady and chilled , it was such a thought to run 20 mins 😱😄🏃🏻‍♀️

Go do it 👌🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Well done you! I haven’t managed to do my next run - but have been using the exercise bike sometimes instead... tomorrow I will, honest. You’ve shown me the way now ;)

Take it easy out there! It’s been blowing a hoolie here since about 4am! I’m taking things slow too. Loads of walking and too much eating and drinking if I being honest too lol. Loving the Easter break.

I know you will smash this when you feel ready to go.

Happy Easter Mrs R. Sending loads of love.
