I was "scheduled" to run yesterday, but my knees were playing up a bit and I was pretty tired. I fretted all afternoon, I did want to go, but in the end common-sense prevailed. I hadn't had a real rest day, it wouldn't do me any harm to have an extra days gap and take Sunday easy. Nothing was going to stop me this morning though. And I felt fine as I marched across the fields on my warm-up, looking up at the stars in the sky and just rejoicing that I can do this. The runs were relatively easy, I took them slow and tried to concentrate on my breathing. Not very successfully - there's just too much going on in my head. The podcast music is setting the rhythm (where do they get that music from?), and I'm distracted by the text, was that step 4 or 5, by the time I've counted it's probably 6. Am I breathing in through my nose - oh no, how do I manage to breathe in and out at the same time (felt like it!). What are my arms doing, oh my right hand is clenched, try and relax, but watch that puddle, don't take that corner too sharply or my knee might protest. You get the gist! I was also faster again, in fact I ran out of route for my cool-down. Looks as if I'm going to have to extend it a bit.
A good fun run - already looking forward to Wednesday. I like the weeks with different runs.

YES! Taking us into week 6 with style there skinny, fab job! Well done I use the app so can listen to my own playlist, I don't think I'd manage with someone else's music choices, it's the eclectic mix of my power ballads and cheesy dance stuff that keeps me going personally! What does Laura like then? I'm intrigued! And the whole breathing thing is tough to get, I can relate. just now, if I can actually breathe while running, it's a result, regardless of where it's coming in or going out! Congrats on kicking us 6-ers off with a success x
Not putting the pressure on - are you! No, really I'm delighted to lead the way and will be cheering you all on! It will also keep me motivated and give me ammunition to blast those little gremlins away!
Well done. Sounds like yours went well. Did mine today too and found it really tough! Storm Imogen may have played a part but I almost gave up on the 8 mins but I battled on. Was glad to get home and get my PJs on!
I don't know if I could run after work. I think I'd be too lazy - or hungry. In the evenings the couch potato in me comes out! So well done and congratulations. W6R2 on Wednesday?
