Week 5 Done and Dusted!

After a very relaxing day at home, decided I felt "fit" enough to have a go at this one, despite the man flu etc. So... started up the Treadmill and Jo Whiley, thinking to myself that if I felt rough I could always stop and try again at the weekend.

Interestingly one of the main motivating factors was this forum. Early on in the run I was imagining the two possible posts I could do afterwards - "I tried but couldn't do it" or "Week 5 done and dusted". That actually kept me going :)

The first five minutes were definitely the hardest, mainly due to the man flu meaning I was struggling to get my breathing steady. Once that settled down, it wasn't too bad.

I did however notice later on that my legs had stopped obeying my brain, anyone else had that? As in...

Brain to Legs: "This is a nice song, let's go a bit faster"

Legs to Brain: "No flipping way - if we are doing this for 20 minutes, this is the only pace you're gonna get!"

:)

Over the moon to have got to this massive milestone, it does now feel that the rest of the programme should be easier than the various stages we had to get through to get to this point.

I know what you mean, this forum is a major motivator, all the support really does help keep you going.

Well done on another run done especially with the man flu still hanging around.

Ah well done Hoagy! Huge milestone passed. 👍🏼👍🏼

Hey - well done! Due to do R2 tomorrow- & I do that! Imagine the post I'm going to write & how disappointing it will be to have to say you didn't do it. It really does spur you on.

Huge Well Done! Good for you, esp as you are under the weather. Now you can do anything... 🏃‍♂️

Woo woo!! You're over half way through now, how amazing is that!?

I'm the same as you. I find these posts quite motivating. It's great seeing a few people at the same stage giving their feedback on the runs. It makes me want to be in the 'I did it club'.

Looking forward to seeing your future 'I did it' posts 😊👍

Congratulations - I have the same problem with my disobedient feet/legs except for about the last 90 seconds when I can get a (all things are relative) spurt on.

Will watch for your progress next week. Good luck.
