Storming ahead?

Tomorrow should be a running day but a big storm is forecast with rain and strong winds too. Anyone planning on going out anyway or maybe having an extra rest day and going out on Thursday? Not keen on getting soaked but if the skies are clear and the weather men wrong, I would love to run! Julie

I'm going out, but very first thing before the weather hits.

I don't mind the rain - its the being driven backwards by the wind I hate!

Rubbish and bins flying across the roads here but managed to run, feel proud!

Just looked out of the window and decided today is not a running day - I will be running tomorrow x

Thankfully, today is not a running day for me and I have managed to get out in all 5 of the previous storms. If it had been a running day today I would have given it a miss. Lots of trees coming down over here and a lot of them on my running routes. Stay safe folks xx

I kept to the town route where there r no trees and made it back just as the winds were getting really blustery! Can feel smug now!

Definitely! :D

Rain is fine, wind is difficult, unless you can guarantee to have it behind you. I would avoid and try and fit in a run as soon as possible after the storm hits (or before!). If you do go out, avoid anywhere with lots of trees as falling branches can be a hazard. Hope you get your run in!

I did thanks, not too bad as I went earlier and it was harder than usual but feel good for facing it. I have managed most runs to get amazing weather and avoided rain almost entirely so I am due some conditions to toughen me up and test my resolve!

Yes, going out today, late morning/lunchtime, checked weather and doesn't look to bad then in my area Surrey, need to run today, so can rest legs tomorrow before Parkrun on NYD

Hope storm Frank doesn't bother you too much Julie where ever you are.😉

Northamptonshire! I went at about 10 am and as I came back it was very strong winds but feel I dodged the worst of it. Hope u get back in one piece too!

Awful wind here. An extra rest day for me I think. Combined with massive surface water it's probably just silly going out. Wind quite "wuthering" around the house!

I totally hate getting my shoes wet or muddy, so don't blame you. Don't like hopping over puddles. I ran through the town so traffic, crossings and stop starting, never mind, managed to get out which is good. Hoping parkrun on Saturday

So far it's not that bad here in East London, if it holds out i'll be out running tonight.

Its really bad here in South Mancs. We have torrential rain and lashing wind at the moment .

Hope it calms down later as I have a run planned :-) xxx

Not much stops a run and hope there is a break in the rain and wind just long enough for you to get out later, be careful x

Hi guys, new here, Paul 46 in Ipswich, doing my c25k now at week 5 day 3, went out this morning and almost made it but the 20 minute run eluded me, I did manage to run for 20 but had to stop for a minute just over half way, but that was still a Pb for me.

Well done, must a little further and u will have done it. What made u stop and walk, did u get out of breath? Or did ur legs hurt or was it ur brain telling u to stop?

Hi joolie,

I was out of breath and just couldn't recover, I may have done the 11minutes that I did run simply too quick. I'm an ex soldier but haven't run for 20 years so I know mentally I will get there, it's just the physical side, I'm going to do w5d2 tomorrow then have another go at d3. I did make it to week 6 on a treadmill back in the summer but a house move stopped me progressing, I'm doing this as much for my 18yr old son whose huge as for myself but he's not been for 2 weeks stopped at week 4. Hoping he starts again.

Well done for getting out there. I got out this afternoon for a 5k. It was windy but dry, glad I did it ☺

I ran this morning (weds). It was very gusty but warm and I was happy to find I can still manage my 30 mins after christmas.

Hope you have clear skies.

I got out there about 8am, very strong winds, a few trees down and bins all over the road. Was hard when the wind was against me but pleased I did the whole 30 mins. I live in the South East so I don't think the weather is as bad here as 'Up North'.
