I went for my first ever ParkRun today. The one nearest to me is in Falkirk's Callander Park.
It has a gradual and long hill for a bit part and then a steeper small hill towards the end.
I found it definitely challenging. But this is exactly the kind of run I think I need to be doing.
I am absolutely in awe at how well organised these events are! And they are FREE!
Hats off to all the volunteers!
And my respect to everyone who has been doing ParkRuns regularly!
I managed mine in 49 minutes....thanks to the hills. Things can only get better

Well done. Parkrun is fab so it's great to hear you've caught the bug
Regularly running hills will really help your overall fitness and running progress. I live in an area where I have to run lots of long steady inclines and you do grow to love 'm!!!

I know. Sadly, I have to learn to like the hills as I am doing Tough Mudder again next year. And the course is fairly hilly

There isn't much of a difference between week 8 and week 9. You will be there sooner than you think

Oh well done! Hopefully I shall be doing a park run in the new year. It's pretty regular and flat for us, but my first ambition will be to actually do one!!
Good luck with the improvements! Past experience (C25k) tells you it can be done!
