Finally had enough of the reliability problems so Goodbye Garmin, and say hello to Suunto Ambit 3.
Not entirely sure about having a bright white watch, but beter than the electric lime green option.

I'm not much of an expert but I haven't come across Suunto before. What attracted you to that one?

Factors fro choosing Suunto:
1.) It's not a Garmin.
2.) Kilian Jornet wears one, and if it's good enough for him... also I am sure wearing Kilian's watch wil imbue me with some of his superhuman abilities too.
3.) Emelie Forsberg also endorses them, and. y'know, I'd wear a frilly pink tutu if Emelie told me to. *Goes off to lie down for a moment*

The one i really wanted, the Suunto Kailash has a lovely bronze bezel. But it was £600+ and, as I have decided that the only approach to take with running watches is to treat them as semi-disposable, that was a way too pricey.
I'm due to send my 7 month old Garmin back after my Sunday run as they've said it needs replacing. I've really been hoping I've just suffered an isolated incident and this would be a minor blip. Not so sure reading your post! Good luck with the new watch and I hope it is reliable ☺
