Never mind the speed... 30 minutes is a wonderful achievement! Well done, grannyjudes!
Well done, grannyjudes, speed doesn't matter time and distance is what is important.. keep it up
Well done, keep it up, such a fantastic achievement. Good luck.
Hmm -- before I can comment on your pace, I need to know (for the purposes of comparison ) how many other 60+ YO people in your community who can run 3klms in 30 minutes -- no, --wait -- I further need to know how many 60+ people in your community can run 3Klms at any pace??
Well done, grannyjudes. You're posts are really keeping me going, if you can do it, what excuse do I have not to??
Oh thank you , you people are so kind, almost in tears here
Ditto all the above positive comments. Being able to run for 30 minutes is a huge achievement, well done you!
Ah well done Judes that's amazing! Not long to go now xx
Well done grannyjudes that's brilliant! You are TOTALLY showing us the way to go here
Very nearly there now grannyjudes! Who cares about speed - not many grannies out there who can run for 30 minutes non stop!
Are you planning something spectacular for your graduation run?
30 minutes running is 30 minutes running. That is something to be proud about grannyjudes! Nearly there now!
x
Well done. I giggled at "run 30 mins in 30 mins." 100% achievement ! Congratulations. (*whispers, that's my pace too..) xxx
Fantastic GJ, it's all about the time not the distance, so GO GrannyJudes!! Good luck for r2
Well done, and keep up the good work
Congratulations grannyjudes , that's fantastic . Keep up the good work .
Wow ! Two more runs to graduation, will you finish on the weekend ? Just need to know so can send you virtual good wishes via the medium of positive thoughts....You're doing SO well.
Im not sure, I kinda want to run in the local woods to graduate, but I need a lift there and my OH thinks I have lost the plot ! ( he loves me really, I think !! )
A young bloke down the road came back today from a 30 minute run... he said "I just had a 30 minute run"... He didn't tell me how far he'd gone (and I didn't care)... he'd been for a 30 minute run...
That's what you just did... he was all of about 22 and did 30 minutes running today... you did 30 minutes running today... you're a runner...
Actually, I think you have nailed the "problem" right there -- we should all be running for an allotted time, rather than distance. C25K takes us to 30 minutes -- C25K+ takes us to 35 minutes (Stamina podcast) -- C210K takes us to 60 minutes via 40,45,51,54 minute extensions. The "jumps" in time can be shortened or lengthened as desired depending on individual levels of fitness (and the effort/pace put into a run). The final goal of B210K , to run for one hour non-stop, can be done at distinctly different levels of effort.
I have noticed that the music on these podcasts has a very slow beat - most of them are quite uncomfortable for me to run at, but I am coming to understand that this is deliberate, because the aim is for us to complete these running times at a really easy pace, until we get to the eventual 60 minute goal. After that goal is achieved we can up the pace and effort applied. I am thinking that this concentration on "distance" instead of time spent running is a bit of a problem - at least it is for me.
I think you're amazing grannyjudes - I remember your struggles and knee pain in the early weeks, but you did not give up and look at you now! Graduation party next week?
Fantastic achievement. Almost there now. Good luck with the rest if w9
Oh GrannyJudes , I am so so proud of you ! You are doing brilliantly , despite the setbacks you have had, you have just picked yourself up and carried on. Enjoy your graduation week , you are a shining star ! xxx
OMG feel so humbled , thanks all, your all an amazing support
Well done you!!! Fantastic.
Speed is over rated. Just means you are back at the start so much earlier and have to face the daily grind
Well done! I agree with everyone above: thirty minutes is a brilliant achievement, the distance doesn't matter! Very well done; soon you'll be graduating!
Way to go lady!! Chuffed to bits for you - great achievement!
I think my english is starting to fail me! All I seem to understand is "I ran for 30 minutes"!
Hope you have booked the town crier for your graduation!
Well done and best of luck for your last 2 runs.
Yay for you!!
