Are we ready??!! i guess so kind of!!?? i've only done one 6 k this week, it was hilly and my knee is STILL playing up! bugger! but i'm sure we'll make it round somehow! at least its flat! will be windy but not very rainy apparently! you lot have got most of the rain and wind by the looks of it!! And there is HOMEMADE CAKE in the goodie bag, plus have made some of IP's runners flapjack to fuel us up, in little bite size pieces, i've just got an arm wallet to carry it in! my belt thing is just TOO annoying!!
AND we can buy a tech shirt for £10 with all the runners names on the back and a choice of colours! V exciting!! just might hurt a bit!! good luck for yours!!!
You will get round Ali , you are far too determined not to !
Run/walk walk/run, walk/walk piggy back from Paul , you will do it ! Just think of the nice rest you can have after plus you havent got any races on the horizon have you so you can get yourself properly fit again. You probably need a good rest and just to give yourself a break just so you can heal properly .
Blimey , how bigs your arm wallet ? Can you fit pieces of flapjack in it ? Ha ha !
I am taking my bum bag for my jelly baby stash for my 10k . We have got the brunt of the wind and rain in Leeds on Sunday but Im not too concerned about it . I am so excited about it now !
Good Luck to you and Paul , is George going to his Grandads ? xxx
I hope so!! yes can walk some if i have to! think i would squash Paul too much for a piggy back! Think i need to do more strengthening exercises and just do some smaller runs, the other week it was 7k when it started aching, where as with the hilly one on tues it was around 4k
arm wallet only small but i have cut flapjack into mini mini bits! its in freezer! might put it in a few mini bags of 4 bits and shove it in and hope it stays edible!! got my tic tacs too and glucose tablets!!
Yep George at Grandads as Boz running too, but he will be faster! My sister has even threatened to take him walkies for me! Her chap has A fondness of Jack russells too! You'll do great in Leeds, hope you get to meet with TT!
would like to do this on 13th Dec
westwight.org.uk/events/the... but it might be a bit TOO hectic! we'll see! or this on 28th Dec: i'm working at the mo but might see if anyone will cover it!
Oh dear There is so much of it going around, I woke up with a sore scratchy throat yesterday and have been taking Lemsips , just to try and fend it off ! Its more in my head though today , not on my chest . Thank goodness.
It has gone really cold here tonight, It was quite warm on Tuesday night , about 14 degrees ! There is a very cold wind here tonight . I do love this time of year though dont you ? xxx
Thank you so much , this is really kind of you xxx
What a lovely idea and well deserved Poppypug You've been very supportive to me and lots of others of us who have just / are still in the process of graduating !
Aw that is so thoroughly deserved! Pops is tireless in her support of everyone on here. Always ready for a laugh too. You rock Popsa! This forum wouldn't be the same without your input! Well done my lovely x 😊
Hey look at that shiny badge!! Well deserved, let's get the bubbles out....maybe we should put it on ice until after Sunday afternoon. 👏🏽🎉🍹🍹🍹there isn't a champagne glass so it's a champagne cocktail.
Aw thank you so much It is a bit of a problem being away from home a whole day as I dont have anyone to look after the pugs and putting them in kennels is a bit of a non starter as Doug my black pug is so nervous and anxious. That is such a lovely thought though, thank you xxx
Congratulations Pops, can't think of anyone more deserving of this accolade. You're always there, dispensing your own unique puggy wisdom, advice and encouragement, making us laugh and geeing us up when things don't go according to plan. Couldn't happen to a nicer person.
Woo hoo!! Let's hear it for the girl! 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅 💐 xxx
We all help support and encourage each other and thats what makes this such a fantastic community and I am so happy to play my part.
Im not really sure how I came across this forum , I was looking for bus times to Bury Bus station at the time, but I believe fate lead me here . Ha ha ! xxx
Congrats PP, couldn't happen to a nicer person! I love reading your posts and replies, always something positive and encouraging to say, and funny too. xxx
You're most welcome! I can't think of anyone more deserving of the honour Been having some lovely runs thanks, though cut back a bit over the last couple of weeks with niggly shins *sigh* but tis the nature of the beast I guess xxx
This is fantastic news - that you have been made a mental - sorry - mentor (predictive spelling again!) . You have done so much for the running community including myself that I personally think you deserve a knighthood. And one of those diamond tiara things too and the pugs can have little matching ones. I am also very honoured to have met and run with you - so there. 😇 Xx
Woohoo! Congratulations, Pops, and well done, Rfc - great idea!
Right, then Pops, I'm waiting for you to ment someone now. Go on, then, I'm watching. Are you doing it now? Are you? Oh, silly me - you've been doing it all the time, of course! Seriously, gal, you're brilliant - always there with encouragement, a cup of tea and a giggle. Keep it up, and very well done xx
Haven't posted in ages but thought this was more than deserving of an outing.
Wow, wow, wow a huge congratulations on your new position. I hope the pugs are giving you due respect. I always read the daily updates and you are there with encouragement and kind words for all in the forum. Long may you continue. Three cheers..............hip,hip......
Very well done Poppy - your posts have kept all of us going through the harder runs - you are amazing - and hilarious - no-one deserves the title more! Is there a tiara?
It's a great forum to be a part of, I am really glad I found this forum and to of got to know you, I look up to you as well as a few other people on here
don't change yourself your great just the way you are
What a fantastic idea and so justified - Poppypug you are a complete star. Your support and encouragement were certainly key to me graduating all those months ago
