I have been really struggling with 25mins, but managed it today - 2nd time if 5 try's - thanks to lots of support, advice and belief from you guys. I am really grateful.
It wasn't easy and there was no yay! feeling, just total relief it was over. I didn't think I could go any slower than I normally do, but today I did. My calves were really complaining - I think they hate me. I haven't told them they need to do it again on Sunday yet
Not sure I've totally conquered this yet but two days rest now. Phew!
I saw a lovely robin and a jay on my way back, which felt like my reward.
Thankyou people!

Congratulations Two days rest sounds perfect and hopefully on Sunday you'll be ready to tackle it again - good luck !
Hope so! I am amazed how my calves feel ok this evening, even though I had to do a very gentle walk to a meeting and back - probably about three to four miles - this morning too. Maybe that helped them stretch out?
Great to hear you've broken through TOrtoise! if a few extra rest days are helpful, don't hesitate to leave a bit longer between runs. There is no race to complete the programme, and you are only 5 minutes away from graduation runs now!
Thankyou! 5 mins to graduation sounds so easy! Not do much when I'm out there maybe but it does feel I can get there... I had started to feel like 20mins was my limit!
Don't fret so! You are doing fine. Slow is perfect. You'll appreciate this further down the line. Slow is good for burning fat and for developing your running legs SAFELY
It needn't be a frenetic, exhausting trauma. Chill out a bit and have a lovely run. Enjoy the sights and sounds, the birds etc etc. Some fab autumnal scenery out there to be ogled at. Even in town I've seen some awesome trees.
Of course you can get there! Don't doubt it for a second! You are on the home strait now. Just enjoy these last runs. Savour them x
Aww thanks. I will try and chill. Don't really know why I'm fretting. Like you say it should be about looking at nature and enjoying things. And I do love seeing all the birds and animals I wouldn't normally have been out there to see.
Aw Tortoise , you have overcome a major obstacle and for that you should be very proud of yourself.
Please dont be so hard on yourself ((( ))) I know how easy it is to get bogged down with it and starting to feel under pressure , but you are doing great, you really are !
Good Luck with the rest of the programme. You can do this ! xxx
t's so good to get everyone's understanding and support. I think if it wasn't for that i'd have definitely gone back to redo week 5 if not given up by now. You've made me appreciate and rethink my progress and see that whether I manage to complete a run or not, at least I'm out there and doing better than I was before i started. Not only that, but I feel fitter in general too.
Big rain here and windy tomorrow so that should be interesting!
