Belated Merry Christmas to you allππ π»πit is such a busy time of year & weather so unpredictable!! Today was really cold but after feeling a bit down yesterday, think its age & trying to make a decision if i am going to retire or not! I decided to get up & put my running gear on & see if that would perk me up, since last run was on the 18th! So much for me running in my holidaysβΉοΈ. Well wrapped up in buff, hat & new running gloves i braved the cold & did a longer warm up just to pass a busy road & off i went, must have been the longest & slowest 30mins yetππand I thought the last 5mins would never end....but hey ho with all you runners out there keeping me going i did it & was so chuffed with continuous 30mins although i could easy have stopped after first 5minsππ. This is the hard bit for me keeping going 3 times a week as i struggled last time . But so want to be a runner & keep my spirits up! Must keep posting to check what everyone doing & congratulations to all you new graduates at such a hard time of year with the weather! Happy running πββοΈπ x

Hard 30mins slog π±
Hello Pc59 And a belated Merry Christmas to you! Thing is you are a runner! You just couldn't stop yourself from togging up and getting out there, and then you couldn't stop yourself after 5 mins even though you thought you wanted to!! Makes you a runner in my eyes Good for you.
Well done that runner for getting out there and it's great you had a good 30 minutes run too π
Well done. I find a good run lets me mull over problems and decisions in my head.
Keep posting, I find it holds me accountable if I tell the forum about my activities.
Happy running.
Hello, happy 4th day of Christmas! What determination you ran with if you wanted to stop after 5 mins - you deserve a huge cheer for keeping going for another 25 mins. π
I had a real wobble with keeping going at week 7 and a similar but lesser experience after a couple of weeks on the IC. I help myself with a playlist of music that I really like so each track cheers me along, I change my routes, even if it's a small adaptation in a similar area. I also tried a pattern of run for 15 /walk for 2 etc to see if I would like it ( not quite decided yet ). Basically anything positive to crush gremlins because, like you, I really want to run. π
We will!!!! I love thst idea of run 15walk 2 etc im going to try thst & you are so right about varying routes as when i do that i lose track of time! Onwards & upwards πheres to us πββοΈππ»ββοΈπ
I picked up the 15/2min idea on this forum, - it's the Jeff Galloway approach (easily found online) Someone posted that they had completed a marathon using this approach. For myself I will adapt it to suit my current running pattern - so atm I am comfy for about 20 mins - I may do a 20/2 min pattern for one of my three weekly runs, - still experimenting!
Yup, agree, you're totally a runner now, no two ways about it. You're putting me to shame!
O trust me it hasnβt been easy i need you Running buddy to keep me going πππ»ββοΈx
The body is willing but sometimes the mind lets us down. Donβt overthink it, donβt give yourself an option; the running has to be done. When you get home donβt forget to give yourself a pat on the back for your achievements πββοΈππΎββοΈπββοΈ
