Not sure what happened today, first time I've ever gone out running feeling like I couldn't do it, feeling a bit negative. half way round decided to kick my self up the bum and get on with it!! why today? Don't know, but am going to approach Wednesdays run with a more positive approach. has anyone else come across this?

I found that one difficult and chose a completely unfamiliar route for the next one, which turned out to be one of my most enjoyable runs. I think you just have to accept there are times when it feels more difficult but that doesn't mean it was a "bad" run - the fact you finished it proves you are building your mental strength. Congratulations ! :-)

Thanks Greg, I'll just put it down to experience and get myself into a good mindset for Wed x

Thank you sfb350 yes, you're right I did finish and I didn't stop either which makes it a good run

I felt the same today, I have just completed Wk8 R1. When I started I felt like I had a lead weight on my chest and had no energy. My last run was Friday but since then we have had a family celebration which included meals out and cake!! Once I got 10 mins into it felt better but was counting down the minutes to finish at the end. Think we just need to congratulate ourselves on completing our runs even though we found it hard. Wednesdays run will be better. My husband has been running for 20 years and says he too has bad days. Keep going not long until our graduation!!

You are right Honeybee. You know what I couldn't do this without everyone's lovely comments and feel much better( all be it after a coffee and shower and then another coffee!) Let's get on with it and finish. Think I'm going to use my own music for the next run, nothing like a bit of Take That!!!!

W7R2 today for me..and I have felt similar for the past 2 runs also..I do think that for me it's starting out with thinking..I'll never do this..it's too long, I'll have to stop half way. Then I feel all heavy and slow. After about 5 mins I'm really into it and then for the last 60 seconds I really go for it!! For me it's a mental challenge..week 7 is tough, I'm aching now but in a nice gentle way!! Stick with it, trust Laura and we'll be getting our Graduate badges in a couple of weeks!!! :D

Looking forward to being a graduate! Cant believe I've actually stuck to it! But between you and me I'm going to finish, then keep running! let's all keep going xx

W7R2 for me too today! I also found it hard, I nearly stopped at one point but then it just got easier and I was so glad I didn't! I can't believe it's only two weeks to graduation! Keep going Debssey, you're doing great! We all are!

W7R3 (last Friday) almost became my downfall. Absolutely dreaded W8R1 and nearly decided to go back to Week 6 because I thought Week 7 had proved too much for me. Some lovely people responded to my down-in-the-dumps blog and encouraged me to try week 8, and I did the first run today. Felt so much better this time - I think that over the number of weeks that make up the C25K programme, most people experience at least one downer. But just look at the number of blogs and responses where those that do then realise that it's just a temporary blip! Fingers crossed that this was yours and that you'll get on better next time. :-)

I think it can be hard mentally in these longer runs... you are feeling tired... and you are less than half way... but I keep telling myself that it is really just a case of keeping at it. Lots of us posting here are so nearly there!!! Keep it up everyone! We can do this!

Hi All, I've only just signed up here but I'm going out tomorrow to do week 7/2 Sunday's run 7/1 was good but I felt I was rather slow last week so tried to lengthen my stride. Seemed to be good for distance but muscles knew they had been worked. Not sure if I should stick to the same route or do something new! The last 300 metres of usual route is all up hill and I'm not good at ups!!!

Thank you TJ, I am much more positive and will drink more water before I go out, I forgot to have one on Monday and I think that also contributed to my bad run. Determined to run well tomorrow xx
