Can anyone recommend a good WATERPROOF (not shower resistant) running jacket. Something light weight that will keep me dry when its *issing down. It should also be breathable as I find it can get very sweaty in my existing not so waterproof jacket.

I've only ever had a shower resistant one - Karrimor and a couple of Aldi ones but they're fine. Never had an issue with them. Wearing my recently-purchased Aldi hooded one at the mo. Love it. They are flexible and light enough to tie round my middle when I get too hot

Ive got an Aldi one from last year and the right side of my chest gets soaking. Its extremely sweaty down the arms. Was thinking of a muddy fox jacket from sports direct .

Ooh Ive got a muddy fox one ! I find all jackets though make me a bit sweaty. If I do wear it , I dont tend to wear anything underneath it , cos if I do , it makes me soo hot !

I dont like tying things around my middle as I wear my little bum bag for my phone etc and I find I get too bulky and uncomfortable :-) xxx

Just bought one from Aldi for £20 seems fine so far

Do you really need a jacket at all for running? I did try jackets but now I run in the same thing regardless of the weather (in very hot weather the sleeves and leg length gets shorter, and the number of buffs about my person changes with seasons but that's it) I've had really exhilarating runs in downpours.

Sweat/rain... It's all the same isn't it?! You'll get soaked one way or another. Phone into a freezer bag first, and enjoy splashing through the puddles!!

I haven't been out in TORRENTIAL rain yet, but am actually enjoying getting wet in light rain. Think i'd get sweaty in a waterproof one? Let us know what you choose and how it goes!
