I am just about to start week three and am beginning to think I will need a wind proof/waterproof jacket with some kind of reflective material for running on dark evenings. As it is still early days I don't really want to spend a fortune although my boyfriend has just stated he wouldn't be surprised if I gave it up. I'm ready to rise to that challenge now I think!! Would appreciate your views/advise on jackets. Thanks.
What advice could you give me on buying a runn... - Couch to 5K
What advice could you give me on buying a running jacket please?
Don't give up - prove him wrong!! I have a Karrimor jacket from sports direct which is black with pink & reflective patches. It cost about £15 or less, can't remember the exact price. It's not too badly styled and does the job.
I have the jacket in pink, bright so i can be seen in the dark!!
I was advised simply to layer up so haven't splashed out on a jacket and have just bought some cheap sports tops from TKMaxx. I went into Sports Direct today and bought some blindingly hi vis running gloves but they didn't have a hi vis sash which I thought might be more practical than a tabard.
I also have the bright pink Karrimor from Sports Direct. I wore it in really horrible wind and rain the other day and it did its job just fine. It was about £15 the cheapest I've found so far. They're going for more than that second hand on Ebay.
I have the Karrimor bright yellow one from Sports Direct cost about £13.00 it has 2 zip pockets for keeping your gloves in (very handy) its light weight and easily tied around your waist if you get too hot in it. An excellent starter jacket.
Thanks everyone - I'm off to Sports Direct straight from work tonight to get myself one.
