One of my goals from running is to lose 5kg by Christmas... so far I have only lost 1.5kg. So that is going to be quite a tough one to achieve. However, when getting dressed this morning, without noticing and without trying, I put my belt on the next notch. Hopefully it'll stay there for a while! 34 inch waist here I come!
A pleasant surprise!: One of my goals from... - Couch to 5K
A pleasant surprise!
I haven't lost a pound and if you look at other posts about weight loss it seems to be a theme ie we don't! But most, like you, report a change in shape. I think my waist is probably more defined.....although I do fret that all this talk about fat turning into muscle is a worry.....I don't want that to happen!
Good luck and keep enjoying the running and exercise. It will pay dividends. In the end I am sure! It's got to do good somewhere!
Good stuff, well done. I hate monitoring weight, I think it leads to all kinds of grief. Much better to go by how you look and feel, if you can π
Hi Simon well done for the loss so far π I have found running is great for getting fitter and I love it however I have incorporated strength training and a 1500 cal eating plan to try and increase the probability of losing weight too as for many months didn't lose a pound. I'm now 1.5 stones lighter and am looking forward to seeing 11st something on the scales π Good luck and keep up the good work
well done like you that is how I noticed a change in my body , still working on that next hole though .. good luck keep at it
Ah you see it slips up on you imperceptibly. Keep on running and eating healthily, plus whatever else you're doing on your non-running days, and watch the scales go down. Like anything else, it takes time so don't be in a hurry to see quick results. It's best to lose weight gradually and sensibly
Well done! You could give yourself targets and then award yourself a reward, eg new running stuff rather than food treats
Well done for the weight loss! Give yourself time. I agree that body shape can change without necessarily losing weight - it depends on what other sport you are doing, and how you are eating/drinking. I gave up alcohol for Dry January, and walked 5 km per day: the two combined resulted in 5lbs of weight loss. Then I started C25K, then running three times a week...and continued to eat properly, but ignore alcohol. Today, over 2 stone has gone. So keep it up
