Tough run yesterday

Oof. This girl is a bit sore. I've been waiting to add on distance until my body adjusts to 30 minutes twice a week and a 5k once a week. I'm evidently not quite adjusted yet. My legs were feeling a bit beaten up. It also didn't help that I tweaked my hip while stretching (my foot slipped on wet stairs). That said, I made my 30 minutes and was just fine. It was gorgeous weather outside and the perfect running temperatures. I'm beginning to love running in the fall! Anyway, there are no serious injuries - I just might need an extra day before my next run. We'll see. 😃

What a lovely view!

Everyone has days when running is harder for no explicable reason. Some days your legs just feel heavy or you're out of breath without anything apparently having changed. I was really aching yesterday after a run Wednesday night and I've been running pretty much that smae speed and distance for more than a year now. It just happens sometimes.

Better to take an extra day or two and recover rather than push on and pick up a real injury. Hopefully everything will be back to normal by then.

Happy running!

Ugi

Yes, I agree than an extra day may be needed. I am trying to be careful. I hope you lose the soreness quickly too!

Yes, there's no problem with taking that extra day. You might find it actually helps and you have an extra spring in your step.

It was lovely out there today. My run was not as picturesque as yours though. That looks gorgeous!

Beautiful view. Just breathtaking.

If it helps at all I had a one of "those" runs the other day. We all get em. Just pack them away & forget about the blighters.

Onwards & upwards!

Definitely onwards and upwards. Even if there are bad runs, feeling fit is very much worth it.

Our bodies like to complain don't they? I tried doing a 10K programme after graduating and after the first week, knee was sore and had to rest for a few days. Back to 3 X 30 mins for a couple of weeks, then will increase distance very slowly. Mstill enjoying my running though 😅

Good for you! I think I will give my body time to adjust before I add too much distance. Like you, I'm so glad to be out and running.

Lovely photo! No harm in taking an extra rest day.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to going out again, but I will probably give myself a bit longer to recover. Better to wait than to end up on the injury couch.

You do take some beautiful photos , you really seem to capture it perfectly !

Hope your niggles are soon over , nothing wrong in taking extra rest days if you need them :-) xxx

Beautiful isn't it? Great running in the sun without the heat of summer!

It really is. Also, the sugar maples are changing colors here. I don't think there is a prettier fall tree.
