I could (I was running 30 minutes during Week 8 as well as this week), but I'm going to hold back to 28 minutes tomorrow, and save the 30 minutes for next week when I'm in Iceland, just for the sake of graduating somewhere a bit more glamorous than the Midlands.
W9R3 tomorrow ... but I'm not graduating - Couch to 5K
W9R3 tomorrow ... but I'm not graduating
Best of luck to you Telecaster for your graduation run in Iceland next week, like the UK, the weather in Iceland next week is be cold, so wrap up for it.
Or, you could do the 30 minutes anyway and just not tell anyone
How exciting FT! Hope you’ll post a gorgeous photo for us to see - and of course we’ll want to congratulate you! 🥂
Good luck! 😀👍
Wow... I would normally say don’t put your home town/area down... maybe I’d have reeled off all the great things from the midlands... maybe I’d have told you that home is where it’s at. Iceland though? Wow... out of the towns that’s like nowhere on earth, you may as well be on another planet... it’s unique and then some. Yeah, run 29:59 if you like next run, but do not run 30 😂.
I figured an entire region was probably safe enough.... There are many good things to say about my chosen homeland in the Midlands but in all honesty, 'glamorous' isn't one of them.
Looking forward to hearing all about it, exciting!
Congratulations Fender TC for your graduation next week in Iceland. I myself am an October graduate and I felt compelled to reply to you over other fellow graduates as my Brooklyn-based brother and his wife are also taking a short Icelandic trip this weekend. I mean, what are the chances of two people in my orbit even mentioning Iceland? Fairly slim, let me tell you. Be really nice to hear if it is more glamorous than our own glorious Midlands, which is, incidentally, the same word in both languages. Small world eh? Bon voyage and well done on your running progress, I’m hoping to do Park Run in Arrow Valley, Redditch once my freshly broken wrist is on the mend, but concentrating on developing a front foot running style in the immediate future, cheers.
As it turns out this morning I could run a bit further and a bit faster than I thought, which shouldn't really be a surprise - that's pretty much how C25K works. So technically I've done it, and I made sure to screenshot the graduation graphic thingy.
But I'm going to make my Iceland run my official graduation. It's a bit like losing your virginity (though more fun, obviously); there's the actual technical event, then there's the event which actually makes you feel like something of note has occurred, and they're often not the same thing.
(Also... Sanjeev went AWOL for me too. I had to put up with that Michael Johnson, whoever he is...)
Really, Fender TC tut-tut, you need show a little more respect where Olympian legends and Multi World champion and record-holders are concerned. MJ is one of the most accomplished sportspersons of all-time and one of the coolest dudes to boot. Well done on completing your run.
He doesn't have a sitcom on BBC Radio Four though, does he?
You’re asking the wrong person if you want a definitive answer, but I think he’s one of the few that don’t, so no. One of the few athletes that is. Then again, I checkout the “fringes” so infrequently myself these days that I really couldn’t say for sure. Then there’s the “Gig economy” factor to take into account of course, whereby one is reluctant to turn down the opportunity to do some thing -especially in front of a microphone or camera - in hope of media exposure/audience growth/panel or reality show appearance/farewell tour/another payday/a final payday/etc.
Still, the BBC let me tell you - and this includes the what did you call it? oh yes, the Radio 4 station, I presume - has proved a decent spawning ground for some careers 🤩 Crikey, I hope I’ve heard of you. Off for a walk/run with Gwich, my Border Collie, have a good one, bye.
