A bad run that wasn't that bad.....

I had to get up for work at 2.30am this morning, which is early even by my own standards !!

Got home and went straight out for a run but I wasn't 'feeling it' !

I graduated a week ago and have upped my run to 33 minutes which I have successfully completed twice.

Today, as I started running my whole body screamed 'NO !!'

I thought I should just see how far I could go as I felt worn out within five minutes and my breathing was a struggle !!

Anyway, just through sheer bloody mindedness I managed to run for thirty minutes when I thought I would call it a day.

The irony is that I actually, stats wise, ran pretty well ! My second quickest 5k in approx. 31.30 of which some of that was walking !!!!!

So I have surprised myself and was well chuffed with the way I just got on with it and went as far as I could manage - really pleased that I put the effort in !

That proves to me that a bad run is better than no run !

Sounds like hard work going for a run when you've been up since 2.30 am but you did it! You sound like you are flying,I have done week 9 run 2 tonight and completed 4.32km in 30 mins but getting closer to being able to do 5k. By my standards I felt I was running on air today compared to Tuesday's run when my legs felt like blocks of wood! ☺️But yeah, I agree, a bad run is better than no run!

Definitely shows a bad run is better than no run. Good time there Rich and good effort after such an early start to the day. Hope the next run is slightly more enjoyable.

You had to get up for work at 230am!!!!! No point going to bed really.

Blimey, I think you did brilliantly to run a step after such an early start. Seriously good for you.

Some runs will just feel like awful slogs. Makes the good ones all the sweeter. Good for you on finishing it up despite the unpleasantness.
