Positive heckle!

Just to redress the balance!

I was nearing the end of my run yesterday, so slow and sweaty at that stage. Two male cyclists rode past and one of them turned, grinned and gave me a thumbs up shouting 'Looking good!'

Given that he was young enough to be my son it absolutely made my day!

Haha it is good I find other exercises such as cyclist and fellow runners are supportive it's the lazy arses in vans who give the negative heckles .... Yeah get of your bum and try and run with me and then heckle haha xx

Yep, fortunately a bit too rural for many white vans round here.

I got "you're doing well" from an old lady walking her dog the other day. Near the end of my run too so spurred me on!

gives a buzz doesn't it, I get that when the faster runners go past me on the local parkrun..

I should add that I have never knowingly had unhelpful comments - well, if I have, I've never been able to hear them because I've only been running without headphones for about three months. Before that if people have said things I've always assumed them to be friendly and just given them a grin and a 'good morning' in return!

Ignorance is probably bliss!

I like your attitude. :) I think most people are decent positive folk, and those that aren't, well you are doing them a kindness by positively missreading their comments :)

I love the tags, Sweaty Shouting.

Sounds like it should be an olympic sport, you get marked on style, spray and volume.

I'd love to say something encouraging to anyone passing but I don't want to seem patronising, so I just smile. I too have been lucky, I only ever get smiles or morining/afternoon etc.

Yay I like that!

All I got this morning was a snotty comment from my postman as I walked past him on my warm up walk that I should be running not walking. This is why I prefer to do my warming up inside the house before I go out running, but this morning my garmin didn't want to find a satellite from my front porch so I had to walk for a while. I explained to him that I was only recently out of bed and running from the get go wouldn't be a good idea since my legs hadn't woken up yet. (To be fair, it was about 9am, and I should have been up and about a lot earlier than that!).

There is always a smartarse out there just dying to make you feel bad. I choose not to feel bad today :)
