It was a practice run. Rest a day, drink lots of water - will help with the stitch (trying to take my own advice here!) - and go again, taking it nice and slow. You can do it. And hey - you ran for 8 minutes! Well done
Stitch is nasty. I think you can allow yourself a restart without feeling bad. Try and slow down a bit. Everyone worries about W5R3 then finds it was actually easier than they expected.
Hey - just linked over to your post from mine. If you have a stitch while running, I think somewhere in week 4 the advice was to breath in & out with you belly out (rather than holding it in, actively push it out) this has helped when Iβve had a stitch, but Iβve not had one bad enough to stop yet, and they are horrible!
Hydration in the hours leading up to the run will help massively, nothing for about 60-90 minutes before you go. Then just before you go, have a mouthful or two and you should be fine.
Went out again today and I nailed it. Was bloody hard but I done it! Also added another 7 mins after I had walked for 5 at the end as still had a long way back to the car (brow of hill meant I couldn't continue for the full 8)
Not feeling smug tho as I know what is coming π
Bless you. You only fail by never trying in the first place. You are still doing more than those who are still on the couch. Look how far you have come & as you say - you never imagined that in W1. Maybe try a different route or different music - this may take your mind off the fact you haven't completed the run before? Good luck. You can do this. Keep us posted.
