Week 3 Run 2

Woke up with a slight headache but sometimes exercise can help so out the door on a bright sunny cool morning.

I've got used to hearing the halfway bell but missed it this time so consequently I was further from home on my out and back route. I was still someway from home when Laura said I was finished so I did add in another run.

As always I listen to music on my phone using the Pulsar Music Player. I usually set it up for random song play and today I had Dr Feelgood, The Pogues, Oasis, Patti Smith and the Beach Boys.

Onwards and Upwards.

I did a 6.50 none stop at the end of the section to get prepared for what’s to come.. I felt I could have kept going..

I feel it takes 20 mins to get warmed up.. roll on week 4 !

hope the fresh air & running alleviated your headache. Suggest some water before you run in case you were dehydrated. Also enjoy listening to Laura’s instructions cut through Evanescence, Marillion, Foo Fighters, Darude & Delirium Summer Trance. Like you I’m a former runner but my absence was 20 years. Lot of whitewater under the bridge since! Always buy from running shops to get specialist help buying the correct shoes. Brooks GTS18 were my choice & great footwear for badminton 🏸 too!

Thanks I too was a regular badminton player. I stopped running and badminton when I was made redundant from an office job. I set up a Gardening business and after 7hrs gardening a day I didn't have the energy to do anymore exercise! However I've cut down to 1 days a week freeing some of my time for running and grandchild minding.

Do you have your music on random or set play?

On these longer runs enjoy listening to Delirium Summer Trance. Good to hear you’re enjoying the fruits of your labour. After 7 years you’re refocusing on yourself & being there for your grandchildren. Well done you. Good to hear a success story. Do you play club badminton? Continue to enjoy your running

Thanks I've had little time for anything else but work so I've played no badminton in years but I wasn't club level.

I'm hoping that this couch programme will spark a renewed love that I used to have for running though I think my days of running marathons is long over.

I can see how trance house music could work well for running and I take it from your username that you are vegetarian?
