Two posts in one: week 4 run 3 and beginning of week 5

Hello all. On Wednesday, I capped off my week 4. I was feeling sore and had a cold, but I did it! the cooler weather helped. Today was 27 degrees again and I'm still fighting that cold. It could have been the heat, it could have been that I'm sick, but those 5 minute intervals felt like they were taking forever. I thought 'wow, if the 5 minute run intervals are kicking my arse, how will I manage 8 minutes?' Either way, I kept going and was told to cool down. That was when I realized something was wonky. There were supposed to be 3 run intervals and I had only done two. The stupid program skipped again right? Wrong. Guess who skipped right over week 5 run 1 and did week 5 run 2? Got it in one. I just ran two 8 minute intervals (1.77 km running and 1.40 km walking). I am totally surprised and just a wee bit smug. I may be slow, but I just ran 8 minutes straight twice and thought it was 5. Ha!

You're getting fit, I think! No point in reversing back to run 1 now. Either give your 20 minute run a go if you feel confident, or give yourself another run 2 to build up to it. You're close to the big milestone, now. And you've just been given a clue that ... You Can Do It! Well done.

My plan is to try week 5 run 3 tomorrow. If I can do it - great! If I can't, then I will go as far as I can and try again 😃.

Excellent. You'll do it. However, there is one small problem: It's humanly impossible to run for such a long time. But don't let that deter you. Just run it. :-)

Ok. Made me laugh. I will give it a try!

Well done! That's a big achievement! Great feeling too... I skipped a run early on but week 5 I think you need them all- I am impressed 😀

Thank you! I had been worried about that run. Hilarious that I did it without knowing.

Wow! You clever sausage :) Just goes to show how much your fitness has improved, huh? You could always do W5R1 next, just for your resident Jiminy Cricket (I feel like I've cheated if I miss out a stage, but we're all different).

Yeah, I guess it does. In the beginning I was having trouble completing the 1 minute intervals. 😊

Thank you! The picture is from a little park right behind my place in Wisconsin. I like running there.

You're right to be smug. Well done. Perhaps you should go back and do the session you missed and celebrate how easy you find it. Good luck to you!
