Finally reached W9 and although not running fast am getting comfortable. Ashamed to say I like being told the timings and when the run is over! Is there a 5k to 10k?
Finished! Where now?: Finally reached W9 and... - Couch to 5K
Finished! Where now?
There isn't a 10k NHS programme (very reasonably in my view) but lots of others available. However, you can still spend time with Laura as there's an NHS Couch to 5K+ podcast suite which introduces you to some new ideas.
I do still generally like to have a voice in my ear marking off time (and distance) too, for some reason looking at my watch on a run really messes with me. I use the Runkeeper app.
Enjoy and happy graduation!
Park run?
Well done. Don't forget your graduation badge.
There is a 5-10K programme - in fact quite a few of them.
But what I would recommend to you is that you do W9D3 over again - 3 times per week for a month!! You have now proved to yourself that you can run 30 minutes non-stop - you have already done it 3 times to graduate . HOWEVER - while your mind may be convinced , your body/running muscles are not!! Give them a month to come around to the idea that you can do it - and then your real running adventures can start !
If you like being told the timings and knowing when the run is over you are an ideal parkrun candidate. Have you got one near you ? parkrun.org.uk
Thanks everyone, all makes sense and I had already starting looking at local park runs but funnily enuf for a 55 year old I feel shy! Will get over it but will do W9 some more. I am struggling to download other programmes. I officially hate my ipod! M
