Does it count?

W2R1 today and I had to start walking a few seconds earlier on 3 of the runs.

I am disappointed but still glad I managed more than a minute if you know what I mean?

Just have to keep trying!

It's fine, don't worry about it.

You've completed the first of the W2 runs. When you go out in a couple of days you know what it is going to be like, and will be emotionally prepared for the battle. Run a little slower if you need to.

'You can do this'.

I promised myself a grilled cheese if I did it on Wednesday :D

LOL. have a grilled cheese 90 minutes before you run, and another one to celebrate when you get back ;-)

is 90 minutes the rule for eating before runs?

I ate about 10 minutes before I went out today 😐

Yeah it definitely counts. You completed all the repetitions as well, and that is really the key even more than a couple of seconds off a few of them - you kept going, so well done you! :)

Also, I'd be surprised if there was anyone here who didn't have that experience in the first few weeks - it's just your body adjusting to the demands of more regular exercise.

So take all the positives from what you have achieved and enjoy your grilled cheese sandwich when you have done it again on Wednesday :)

Thank you, I was unsure whether it would count because I didn't run for all the seconds, I suppose if I feel I should I can always do an extra day of w2 and carry on from there 😊

Yes it does count. I can remember during one of the W2/W3 (can't recall which) runs doing something similar. I was worried that meant I'd never get through it. But the next run was fine, and I was pretty much ok after that.

You might need to consider your speed if you find breathing an issue, so don't be afraid to slow down.

Good luck with the rest - take it steady and you'll be fine :) xx

I'm still getting the hang of breathing - something I never thought I had a problem with before now hahaha

I had the slow down advice ringing through my ears after a while. I was really excited to start so probably took off a bit quick only to shoot myself in the foot later on.

Thanks 😆

It may sound a but obvious, but are you breathing in and out to a number of steps? So like breath in for two steps, out for two steps (or three or four) - the number is whatever is comfortable, its the regular nature that should help.

I am still finding my feet with the counting breaths and finding what works. I find it hard to do the breathing like I'm blowing up a balloon throughout as well but that works best on the walks to catch my breath lol
