What Next?

Today I did w8r3. That means I am nearly at the end of the C25K.

What happens next? I do not think I have the time to develop into 10K, so is there an app I can use that is like Laura, who keeps me right, or do i need to just run more frequently? I know I want to begin to add in a wider range of exercise beyond Pilates and Tai Chi over the summer. Maybe swim regularly, but what else? and what running can I do to increase stamina and speed but fit it into a 40 min max slot.

All ideas will be considered!

You could try the follow up C25K podcasts for speed and stamina. I still try to run 3 times a week and get grumpy if I don't manage it. Good luck

Thanks- Think I will do that- i will see what I can find. Did W9R1 today. Not quite at 5K yet!

Parkrun ! Jeff Galloway easy 10k intervals (the first bits)! Well done so far.

I love the C25k + podcasts and run them all the time. I just left them on my mp3 player so run them as they crop up on my shuffling playlist. Laura will be there to hold your hand still so no worries on that score

I do love Laura, i don't listen to music, just the sea and the birds... But I had thought, as i have not yet quite made 5K that I would do week 9 for a while longer to gain more speed, therefore more distance.

Not seen any Park runs, will look into that thanks. 10K sounds hard....

I have done a park run and loved it. I would recommend map my run app. You can set it to tell you distance and pace at intervals. I set mine to five minutes and it tells me my pace and five minute split. Then you can listen to your own music. It really motivates me.

Thank you to all who have replied to my query. I will investigate suggestions. A local athlete (who did an 85 Mile walk last Saturday) suggested a PT but don't think I can manage that yet.

Loads of Parkruns nationwide, look on the website. I did one on w6r3, came 3rd from last out of over 900 runners, but so what..

Thanks, but I am a bit isolated on the Isle of Man and not found stuff like that yet- Lots of running clubs but they look too scary just yet.

Ah The Island! have been there a few times on the bike, lovely place. I'm surprised there's no Parkruns there. Then you could be the first to volunteer and start one up at your local park, maybe Mooragh park, Ramsey?

Not what you're looking for?
