What do people do next!

I am only on week 7 so still a bit to go. However I was just wondering what people do after they have graduated? Just keep repeating the last week or do some of you move on to 10k? Just interested to hear what people do next.

I’m now on consolidation. W2R3 so just keep running 30 mins to get my body used to running 30 mins, 3 times a week. Also mixing up my routes to challenge the legs to run lots of different paths/hills/terrain.

I’ve started using the C25K plus podcasts this week. Currently on stepping stones, then next week I’ll do the stamina podcasts followed by the interval one.

Consolidation is usually recommended for a few weeks, I saw someone said they’d been doing it for 6 months the other day so everyone is different. I will do mine probably for a month in total and then see how it’s going. If all is ok I will start increasing the distance. I have picked up a groin strain this week so I’m hoping that will go ASAP! 😉

Good luck.

Thank you for that. Is consolidation another app I need to download?

No app just the process. I repeated week 9 in the first week, and then am following the stepping stones podcast in week 2, the other podcasts are planned for week 3 and 4.

Just trying to bed in the 30 min run, 3 times a week. Build the strength in my legs before progressing to the next level. Everyone is different, consolidation is recommended if you read the link below. I’m also doing it to build confidence and will register for Parkrun at some point.

You do whatever you want to........5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, ultra or just run for fun.............all require continued training.

Just keep on running! However and wherever you like. Only rule - don't overdo it and get injured. Diferent things inspire different people and as time goes by your own goals will probably change. But remember, never too much too soon. Consolidate first, then if you want to push harder decide whether it's speed or distance that floats your boat. Most of all though, run to enjoy.
