Jumping back in

HanPanStrawberryJam profile image

So tonight I'm back off to the gym after a hiatus due to horrible shin issues. I'm a bit worried and very sure that my fitness will have dropped :( it's not like I have just been sitting around since my legs flared up, I've been walking the dog etc but I'm not sure how 'fit' I'm going to be.

Is it better to restart from week 1 or plough ahead to week 2 straight away?

I'd go straight to week two and see how you fair.

Glad your shin splint woes are behind you. Take care though, go nice and slow. No hurry!

How did you get on? I'd say go for week 2, and if it's too hard going, then go back to week 1 for a bit until you're ready to try week 2 again. There's no rush to get through the whole c25k plan, but it is good to feel like you're going forward. Hope it's all going well :)

If you are not absolutely sure your recovered I'd do w1r1 and see how hard it is. If you have problems do the other w1 runs, otherwise carry on to w2.

Hope it goes well and let us know how you get on.

Hey I said I'd let you know how I got on, I completed week 1 run 3 again and went for a speed 7.8 sprint for the final 30 seconds :) shins are throbbing but not too painful and I feel SO good after the run :) week 2 begins on Wednesday!
