I love my Minnie and I won't be going back to RK, but I'm sure I was faster then! Anyone else noticed a difference?

Yeah I tend to be faster with the phone apps. One of my apps had me practically flying at one point lol

Its to do with your phone and its gps and how the app talks to it.

A dedicated GPS device will always be more accurate but there will always be a degree of error with any device

Yeah I did find when using my shiny new Garmin and the old mapmyrun, mapmyrun had me going slightly further and quicker. But now I just use me garmin :-) xx

Why don't you experiment and use both once or twice?

The accuracy of Runkeeper (of lack of) is really dependent on the hardware i.e. your phone and it's GPS radio rather than the app.

I use my GPS watch and Runkeeper on my phone for nearly every run. My mate Annabel Runkeeper-Smythe nearly always clocks the first kilometre before the watch and on occasions she gets way ahead. I posted this healthunlocked.com/couchto5... a while back, when I had a 10k run with a discrepancy of nearly 0.7k between the two devices. I am sure it is hardware rather than software causing the problems, but when both give a fairly accurate track on the map it is a mystery to why they vary so much.

I've noticed that RK often announces the first KM very early, but is usually correct on distance at least when I upload the run...oh well, I'll just stick to Minnie and try and run a bit faster!

I haven't used run keeper, but did use the Nike+ app and my iPod, the Nike/iPod was nearly a km out in comparison to my garmin, which was a bit deflating right near the end of C25K, but I love my garmin now - I'd have one of those t-shrts that says, 'if I collapse please pause my garmin' 😀

I seem to be at least 30 seconds per KM slower with Minnie..I suppose the distance must be wrong too....as you say very deflating.
