Haven't posted in a while. So I thought I'd do a quick update. So after starting this on my own (for the 3rd time) I got to week 4 and then joined a c25k running group who obviously started from the beginning. They only meet twice a week, so when it got to week 5 it was a bit different to the podcasts. Anyway cut a long story short. We finished week 8 this week doing a 28 minute run which is in line with the app. Next week we are going to the park run venue to do one lap, then a 30 minute run on wednesday and then we all graduate together at the park run next saturday. I'm not sure i'll be able to run it all, but i'm going to try. The group are fantastic motivators and I hope to continue running and doing park runs after. Good luck to everyone on the plan. As many as said before, it definitely works. I had a real battle getting through 20 minutes of week 5 and now that seems quite easy and I'm not scared of 30 minutes. Something just seemed to click. I still feel awful for the first 10 minutes of every run until my body gets used to it and my breathing calms down, then it's just a mental battle to keep going, but I am enjoying it. Good luck to everyone on their runs! This is a fantastic forum.

Sounds great. What a brilliant local running group to have. Good luck for graduating in style at a Parkrun. Not only will you have the support of the volunteers, you'll have each other :)

That sounds like a great running group you've found. Very happy to hear they're out there. And it must be a great push (when you need it) to have the group pressure while at the same time also being very social and nice. So all in all, nice!

Congrats with week 8, and now only one short week left. Enjoy!

The group are great and run by a proper running club. Their hope is that we are motivated enough to join them after and so they gain membership. But there are at least 10 'proper runners' at each of our sessions cheering us on. They're amazing!
