Wk3 run 1

Really was not feeling it tonight. I could have quite happily went to bed after work, tough day, tired head from the get go.

Anyhoo... I found some tiny piece of motivation to go and do this weeks first run, the last minute or so of the last three minute run was tougher than I've experienced thus far. I had to dig in for that, it wasn't my legs or my cardio. My head was wanting me to tap out tonight, "3mins? You cant do 3mins" but my playlist came to the rescue with my favourite song and just concentrated on that instead of the clock. Then it was done.

I need to get into the run and not watch the clock.

Well done for finishing your run! All the battles are in your head but once you get over that it certainly makes running more enjoyable. Enjoy your next run! 😊

Your head does start messing with you at some point, trying to convince you that walking is a good idea. It's great you pushed through and finished your run. Well done.

I am dreading wk3r1 which for me is tomorrow. I have no music only my stop clock so your post interests me. Well done for doing it you have inspired me to just do it, mentally my brain has been telling me I can't . Will have to buy a cheap MP3 player and play the music I love ☺️

Really, it's not so bad, just don't get fixated on how long you've got left to go. I usually drift away into a little music fuelled bubble. I was just a bit more tired than usual that night and it felt harder than it was. In hindsight, I did a lot better than I gave myself credit for :)

Just recall when you first started and didn't think you'd make it out of wk1 run 1. Well it's 2 weeks and 6 runs later and your still doing it... and you will do it. Once you get the first 3 min run out the way it's a big relief. I find that with the first run of each new week. I start apprehensive and finish elated that I managed it at all.

I can't understate how motivating the right music can be. I can't imagine life without music.

A few short weeks ago I was where you guys are having exactly the same thoughts! Don't give up!

I blast my music loud so I can't hear myself think it certainly helps not listening to the self doubts :) good luck :)
