We went to Nuclear Rush. I did the 12k (turned out to be 14) 86 obstacle course, and my children did 1, 2 and 3k in their respective age groups. The KT tape and ibuprofen got my torn medial cruciate ligament through the 'fairly challenging' course well and I only failed one obstacle, although did crack a rib doing so, and also had excruciating calf cramps the last 3k or so, whch struck down a lot of runners in fact, and makes fighting through thick mud really hard work. Still, was a super race, and a great fun day out. Whilst I was not fast I did finish much further up the field than I expected, and my kids acquitted themelves brilliantly. I have a brill picture of all three of them with their medals but it is on my wife's phone so will have to post that later.
Managed to hobble round Harry Potter world yesterday. Drove home this morning and had slightly worrying moment coming off the motorway when I could not get my left leg to push the clutch down. am spending the rest of the day on the sofa with the gallon teapot, painkillers and a book. Have bruises from stem to stern, but nearly two weeks to recover before next event.

Haha Flippin' crazy!! You really don't take any prisoners do you, Rig? Ktape and ibuprofen for a torn crutiate and then a cracked rib to round off the day. Talk about hard core!! Brilliant photo of you and the Riglette. As Henpen says, you can't have too much mud!
I can honestly say that would be my worst nightmare! I know a few people in my close circle of friends who would LOVE it though, and I shall be sending them some links! I could be the picnic provider
Wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same..............mind you Rigs, you deviate from the norm far enough to be committed.........a committed runner that is........I dunno.......
