I'm so itching to go for a run. After my shorter run due to school kids the other day, I didn't get a chance to go out on Friday, what with my yoga practice and then daughter's 3 hours of performing arts after school (and I had a friend over). Yesterday was my first Yoga Teacher training day, thoroughly enjoyed it and got to teach a bit of yoga (scary first time experience, but by the third time I was loving it!) and today was all scrubbing house. I did mean to do just a couple of hours cleaning and then go for a run, but after most of the day (admittedly I wasn't going that fast), I had still only made a dent in a couple of rooms, so no running for me. Probably just as well, as I had a record 3 glasses of wine last night after the course (met a friend in London), usually keel over at 2
Will lay out my running gear for tomorrow morning and hope that my legs will not suddenly start aching from all the down face dogs I did on Saturday
Hope everyone has had a great running weekend!

Oh wow how exciting, yoga teacher to be! Sounds like you had a great time and will have plenty of time to reflect during your run tomorrow. Have a fab run!
thanks Jems! I am really excited about the yoga teaching, I have a great deal of work to do, reading, practice, yoga journal and lesson planning, and I'm looking forward to it all.
I just logged into goodrunguide and mapped a route, I have 8 miles from Hampton Court bridge to get home (assuming I can get a lift there), which will give me plenty of warm up and cool down time. I hope to run 6.2 miles tomorrow (10K) if the weather and my legs are good, as I just realised I'm almost there with my 5.5 mile runs I've been doing
Brilliant. Fingers crossed for you as that would be soooo awesome!
I wish you could be my yoga teacher.....we used to have the most lovely lady who was so empowering and gave lots of mods for us larger ladies but she left and was replaced by a guy who's motto was "nobody ever died from supporting their own body weight" I almost proved him wrong when I got stuck with my legs over my head and he turned the lights out (i didn't want to say anything to spoil the silence looooool. I am sure you will have far more empathy and common sense plus at least I got a very amusing story out of it
sounds like your yoga chap was a total prat, and dangerous. Yoga isn't about being super bendy or super strong, it's not even about postures really. The postures are there to help you focus your breathing and mind and you should only go to the extent your body can cope with. That's why I wouldn't want a 20 year old supermodel contortionist for a yoga teacher, it would be really demotivating. I like my teacher, she is happy to say "some of you are lucky enough to be able to do xyz, but I can't" so she'll talk us into the extension if we think we are up to it, but otherwise we don't do it. And she always offers easier options, some days you can do more, some less.
If I get up your way when I'm qualified I'll come and give you a lesson
Lol he was, but the really good bit was that I let him know......constructively of course then never went back to his class but often see him around the gym. Your teacher sounds lush.
If it makes you feel better, I've fallen off the wagon a bit with running. My last run was last Tuesday! eeek! Life really got in the way last week, and this morning I can still feel the effects of the weekend's jollities but hopefully I'll be back out there tonight, albeit a little gently!
Thanks again for all the supportive comments. In case you didn't see my new blog tonight, I did it, and some! 7 miles in 1 hour 18 minutes, I think that is fairly respectable. Certainly I can see the possibility of doing 10km in under an hour, if I train and bit and put in some effort. That's the next goal (although still have 5K in under 30 minutes to do too, by end of Feb!)
