A year and a bit since starting this running malarky.
I had run previously on a treadmill and stuck to my trusty asics. These served me well and were replaced by an identical pair around a year ago.
In recent weeks I had been experiencing a slight niggle in my left foot. The shoes were definitely showing signs of wear and tear so yesterday, I ventured into a local DW to scout for replacements.
The guy in the shop could not have been more helpful explaining the make up of various shoes and why they were better than others. I spied a treadmill in the corner and asked if they did gait analysis and lo and behold they did. I was analysed and it turns out that I ever so slightly over pronate. All this time and I never knew it !
Anyhoo, the upside is that I have a very shiney, dazzling white pair of shoes (asics again!). Very comfy. I have a very busy weekend but still hope to test drive this weekend.
Happy running folks

Interesting to know whether it makes a significant difference. Enjoy the test run!
Hi good luck in trying the new asics. I finally went for gait analysis too this week weird experience watching your feet run 😝. I ended up with saucony ones and my daughter asics so nearly at end of the C25k we finally got them! Only one week to do so feet should feel great!
Now where is the traditional photo of said new shoes??!!you know we like to see them, please don't be shy. Plus some of us can't buy any more running gear, so you know have to share the excitement too.
