I have managed to complete all 3 runs without stopping only just though !! Really don't want to repeat but should I redo so I can do it better before I go to w5 ?

I'd say no, but it's your decision. Try W5R1, if you can't do that yet, then repeat W4. It's not meant to be easy at this stage. If you're completing them, that's ok.

That's what I'll do thanks x

I'd keep going on the programme. I never thought I'd be able to do the next run when I looked at the running times, but I managed it once I'd beaten the gremlins into submission. I'm still waiting for that fabulous high that everyone describes, and I'm about to start Week 8. However, it's the "mind over matter" boost that does you good - so hang on in there and don't underestimate your accomplishments. Be proud of yourself - you completed all the runs, that's what matters!

I'm at exactly the same stage - completed W4R3 yesterday and the last minute of the last run was a killer, I was going so slowly I was almost going backwards. I'm dreading starting W5 too. But each time I've progressed to the next run I've been worried about it but I'm still going, so it probably is a case of mind over matter!

Good luck and let us know how you get on - I'll be attempting W5R1 on Wednesday...

I am in the same situation. Finished W4R3 today with great difficulty in the mid of run. Scared to move ahead with Week 5. :-)

W5R1 isn't much of a step from W4 so go for it and see how it goes. With every run (and rest) you are gaining in terms of ability without even realising.

I asked the exact same question last week: healthunlocked.com/couchto5.......

I didn't finish W4 comfortably AT ALL. But I followed all the advice people gave me and did W5R1 on Saturday morning and it was ok! Not easy, still challenging, but nowhere near as awful as I had thought it would be. I finished on such a high, I am actually sort of looking forward to putting myself through W5R2 tonight, even though running for 8 mins seems like another huge step up. As Dunder says, it's not actually a huge step to W5R1 from what you've just done, so you should go for it!

If you have completed the runs, you should be ready to move on. If you can't complete one then just retreat it until you can. I have to say that it never feels 'easy' but you will surprise yourself with how you progress!

Good luck!

If you are able to complete a run you don't need to repeat it but it is up to you. I'd move on and see how it goes. You will probably surprise yourself. Slow is good!

I agree with everyone saying “keep going”. The programme is designed to stretch you. But it never makes you do something you aren’t ready for. Don’t beat yourself up if you find it hard x
