So my last post was all about my worries re my 10k training. I went away last week and, as I suspected, did no runs. Because (1) Peak District- hello beautiful, glorious, stunning HILLS and (2) two of us were struck down with violent but thankfully short-lived stomach bugs.
So today- it's 3 weeks to the Mcr 10k. No more messing. I got up this morning and did a new route, and managed 7km in 46 mins. I felt so proud- this is absolutely the furthest I have run in my whole life. And having done 7km, 10 km seems possible.
So really, to anyone who's missed a week (or two) and feeling anxious / guilty / frustrated / like a failure- just get out and go for it. Maybe try a new route. Any run is better than no run. And you might surprise yourself!
