5k To 10k

Hi

I loved the structure of the c25k program. Looking at apps for 5k to 10k I notice alot of them start week 1 with less run time than the last run of c25k

In my mind I would add 10% to the time each week so 33mins week 1 , 36.30mins week 2 etc.

Do you think this is a good route to go down or is there a good app that you can recomend?

Thanks

I’ve downloaded the 5 to 10K app, I think I might skip week 1, but I quite like the fact it puts interval speeds in it.

Otherwise it’s downloading one off the internet and remember when I set out what I’m doing 😂

Only week 7 run2 tonight so a little away from the next one, but I’m doing a 10K race for life June 2nd so I have to carry on 👏👏

Can I ask what app u are using for 10k. I’m looking for a free app as I don’t think following ju jus forum will be as structured as I need. Thanks

The one I saw in AppStore is called 5k to 10K Health & fitness

It does start week 1 shorter distance than week 9 on C25K. If I get to week 9 ok I’ll see which week to start on.

It seems to put more intervals in with varying speeds.

If you don't want to follow a structured plan you can just gradually increase the time or distance, though not sure 10percent a week is sensible or sustainable for long, but a plan that is thought out like the beginner one will probably give better results and keep your interest. There are lots of plans for 10k out there, a lot of the charities have a free to access training plan if you don't want the verbal coaching.

Not an app, but JuJu's plan on the Bridge to 10k works incredibly well.

Its definitely worth you having a look at.😊

Slightly confusing - am in similar position. Bridge to 10k just seems to be a forum. Lots of people takingsbout the mysterious ju jus plan with no easy way to find out! Eventually found this - presume this is it?!!

That is a version of it, she now does one that targets time run or distance. Also has video links to core strengthening exercises.

You register with her to start the plan, do the 3 runs a week (in any order), when you complete it you let the admin team know and get your graduate 10 badge.

It is useful and the people on that forum offer a lot of advice and support.

The set up of the plan is very achievable 😊

Thanks! But how do you register with her? Your link above is broken!

So I see.😶

There are pinned posts.

The last plan has just about finished. Ju JuJu's post was "who wants to do the next 10k".

You could search for that post, then reply to it, that will register you. Ju ju will acknowledge your reply.

Your link takes you to an image of the plan. I would take a screen shot and start using it whenever you want.

I agree it's not the easiest thing to access, but the plan is great!!

Have a look at the free Bluefin Software Bridge to 10k PODCAST. Search Brudge to 10k in Podcasts and you should find it. Similar to C25K but less personal encouragement 🤪
