I must admit I am new to this site relatively... I am using the Nike app on my phone as coach sessions so will that mean I won't become a graduate as I'm not using the C25K app ?
Graduating ?: I must admit I am new to this site... - Couch to 5K
Graduating ?
I'd say strictly speaking you won't, not because of the app, but because you're not using the C25K plan, if the Nike app has a different schedule. If the Nike plan does follow the C25K method, I can't see why not, since you'll have done the same runs.
Does that make sense?
I suppose, if after 9 weeks training you can run for 30minutes non stop, then you *could* call yourself a graduate, but would you be 'a graduate' of the NHS c25k programme or the Nike Fitness App? Dunno. Luckily, there are no NHS c25k police checking up on us all.
HA thanks for the reply... my daughter would be laughing as she knows how rubbish I am with technology and I am just getting the hang of the Nike App so dont want to change till I feel comfortable
Hi Dawn,
I used the C25K as a stepping stone to increase my fitness and prepare me for future running.
The thing that is great is that you get the training schedule and support. As AM has suggested, if you can run for 30 mins 3 times in a week, then you meet the criteria.
No-one is going to ask to see your running log.
Good luck!
Great I'm enjoying the journey so far 😄 always made excuses in the past... But now I'm actually excited to see how I progress and I can actually run lol x thanks for support
The forum is really about the shared experience of the NHS C25K programme. If it was just about running for 30 minutes or running 5K, Mo Farah could be among us.
My experience in over 3 years on this forum is that it doesn't really work long term, and that's not because anyone is excluding, far from it.
Thanks for replying Google me I agree it is about the shared experience of the couch to 5k and I imagine the support will still be there week 1 to week 30 that's the beauty of it you can get as much support or as little as you need. Guessing everyone on here started on the couch and have found out they can actually run and enjoy it. Can't see the need for seasoned runners to use this but it's helped me to put one foot in front of the other. Long may it last 😃
This forum is mostly about the shared experiences of the C25K programme -- BUT many remain here long after completing that programme. They may become "seasoned" runners - but , for me at least, they never forget that they were once "beginners" and this forum is more welcoming and supportive than many other forums. There is information and wisdom to be gleaned from other forums which attract more experienced runners - BUT they can also be somewhat elitist and arrogant.
Dawn Coats -- I say that you are one of us!!! Don't get concerned about whether you have a "graduate" badge or not - just keep on running and tell us what you learn!!!
If you think it's that important, why not download the C25K podcasts? They work...that said I agree with everyone else, do what works for you...
