I started the couch to 5K this time last year, finished it last summer, and carried on running 30 to 35 minutes a day. However, I became very disillusioned because it never got any easier. I felt like I was going to die from 60 seconds onwards constantly, my everyday fitness didn't seem to improve, and I was only running about 3.5k. Then a who plethora of things happened which meant I couldn't run for a couple of months and I had no motivation to start up again.
However, I started a job in Saudi Arabia a month ago. My colleagues told me they like running too so one of them went with me to the beach at 6am to run this morning. It was 30 degree heat, humid, smog-y, and we had to be completely covered in black polyester - but we ran! My colleague ran for 25 minutes but I listened to Laura's week 9 and ran for the first five and the last five minutes and power walked in the middle! It's only small but I feel so proud at the moment!
