Sun is shinin' in the sky....

Had a lovely weekend away for Easter, staying in London Docklands and making the short journey into the city each day for some sightseeing etc. I really missed dipping in and out of the forum and keeping up with everybody's news. Its surprising what you can miss in so short a time. :-( I missed my parkrun and my Sunday running group run, BUT, but but, I did manage to have an early morning run around one of the docks yesterday! I picked a good time to go, hubby could sense that I was itching to be off on my toes so kit on and off I went. I didn't go far, only about 3 miles but it was a lovely bright morning and it was great to explore new ground. I met a few people running, so 'good mornings' were exchanged and a quick chat to another lady whilst running up some steps to get onto a bridge, all very happy, smiley! :-)

Unfortunately I had forgotten to pack Gavroche (my Garmin) but in a way it made the run nice and relaxing without looking at pace etc, but I do love to have all my stats uploaded after, never mind. Back home now and looking forward to a longer run tomorrow. Hope everyone's had a good Easter and lots of running x :-)

Overdosing on cake and choc sounds good! I was doing that all weekend, plus wine, cocktails and loads of food. I need to run it all off this week! Glad you got your 8.4k done, hope the cross country wasn't too bad x:-)

Did anyone say hello back? Not normally many friendly runners in my patch of town!!

in reply toWristy

Just back from w6r2, lovely fresh morning. Had runners, cyclists and morning dog walkers all saying morning!

Yes they did! Runners, walkers, all sorts. My hubby always says I talk to anyone & everyone. I can't help myself....x :-)

My husband goes out - comes back saying no-one said hello. I go out - everyone says hello. I say to him - did you say hello to anyone, No he says. Why can some people not understand the logic here ..... if everyone waits for the other one .....

Sounds a great w/e.

I agree! I don't often get ignored if I say hello. Some people look at me in horror as though I've just slapped them, but mostly they still speak x :-)

So true - people are funny aren't they.

If only you had mentioned this before. You missed the best park run (with a small p because it's not a Parkrun if you get my drift) of the lot. On Saturday you could have entered the Olympic Park 10k. It would have cost a few quid, but there was registration on the day and, of course, there is bling involved! You were just 10 minutes away on the DLR! Equally, you could have joined me at Regents Park. If you're in London, there's always something going on somewhere.

I wish I had entered Rob- that bling you posted caught my eye straight away. I really must do my homework next time. I could have easily got to either park, we used the DLR loads over the three days we were there. It would have got me out of a trip to the Imperial War Museum too! Must try harder... but at least I got a mini run in x :-)
