Well somebody, somewhere wanted me to have a good first run. Beautiful clear, cool, sunny spring morning. Planned a route and it worked out perfectly - managed to get most of the hilly bits in the 5 minute warm up.
Went half an hour earlier than planned because I'd been awake worrying about it anyway lol. Investing in a decent pair of running shoes more than paid off, no discomfort at all. And I found it a bit easier and a whole lot more enjoyable than I could have imagined - by the sixth one minute run I felt more comfortable running than I thought I ever could. I think I actually did one more run than I should because Laura reset herself to the beginning half way through - I forgive her though .
Thanks to everyone on here yesterday for their incredible support and encouragement - it really did help - this is a great forum.
Looking forward to Wk1 R2 now!!

Thanks misswobble - I'm built for comfort, not speed lol so no danger of me going too fast. I've still a couple of stone or so to go after losing 6 stone and didn't think I'd even be able to run for a whole minute - so chuffed when I didn't struggle too much. Looking forward to improving
That's great that you enjoyed it. I remember my first run and silly old me, I cried because it felt so wonderful! We are all here for you, including the ups and downs. Follow the programme to a T and you will be doing your first park run/Race for Life in the Summer. Take it slow and so much to look forward to! Good Luck
Thank you carole01. I've found this to be supportive and informative I can't imagine doing this without it. I hope to do the R4L in July if I progress as I hope. But will it be 5K or 10K????
Well done its a great feeling isn't it, I am now on wk9 R3 and cannot believe how much I have achieved its a wonderful feeling so keep it up and everyone on here are so lovely and supportive. Keep going look forward to hearing about your progress
Well done sound like a great start to C25k. The weeks tend to zoom bupa and watch out for that running bug. We have all be caught and symptoms include talking about running, reading about running, saying "I can't have a drink I have run tomorrow" and spending time looking at running gear and wishing for things. Good luck with the rest of the programme.
