World record here I come

Just done my second Parkrun this morning :-) Improved my time by nearly 2 minutes!! At that rate of improvement I shall be at world record pace in about 9 weeks time (about mid-May). That is how it works isn't it?

No John, you'll be at world record pace in less than 9 weeks. You've assumed that your rate of improvement is linear. It isn't it's exponential. This week was a 2 minute saving - next will be 4 and the week after at least 8 ;)

Can I have your autograph before you are world famous - having blown Mo Farah into a dismal 2nd...
